SDO personnel decontamination system

SDO is designed for work in field conditions for the decontamination and hygienic cleaning of army units. Together with the ACHR-90M vehicle, it creates a separate personnel decontamination area (PDA). Decontamination in the PDA consists of deactivation and disinfection of the surface of the body and simultaneously the decontamination of personal weapons and individual protection equipment (IPE), with the exception of a soldier's gear.

SDO consists of sets of aggregates and materials transported in ISO containers on T-815 6×6 automobiles.

The primary components of the SDO are three mutually connected inflatable tents. The first tent is used for undressing, the second for showering and the third for getting dressed.

A water system is built in for supplying water and solutions and carrying away waste water. Water is supplied to it from the ACHR-90M vehicle. If necessary, the ACHR-90M vehicle can haul away dirty water. The water system consists of pumps, showers, hoses, containers, and collection tubs.

In order to function under various climatic conditions, the SDO is equipped with a heating system, which insures the supply of heat during low temperatures and air ventilation. This consists of two hot-air aggregates, input hose, and a distribution system to all three tents.

The workplace is equipped with an electrical system to ensure its operation. The system is designed to supply power to the pumps, the hot-air aggregates, a lighting system of the tents, and a compressor for setting up the workplace.

SDO also contains stands for weapons, carriers and bags for IPE with stands, pouches for equipment, drinking water containers, a table and tubs for decontamination of the protective masks, a delineative set and an auxiliary material.
